Tank Chess is a deep, diceless strategic game that reimagines the classic spirit of chess through the lens of modern armored warfare. Played on square boards of various sizes, the game challenges players to command a diverse force of Light, Medium, and Heavy Tanks, Tank Destroyers, and Heavy Mortars. Your objective is clear but demanding: either penetrate enemy lines to destroy their Command Tank or safely navigate your own Command Tank to the opposite side of the board to escape.
Unlike traditional abstract games, Tank Chess introduces crucial tactical variables such as piece orientation, armor thickness, and long-range firing arcs. Each unit features distinct movement speeds and specialized armor—strongest at the front and weakest at the rear—requiring players to meticulously plan every maneuver to exploit flanking opportunities. Obstacles and terrain further complicate the battlefield, blocking lines of sight and creating "rubble" from destroyed vehicles that permanently alters the board's geography, ensuring that no two matches ever play the same.
